Another faux pas....
|
comical, but whatever.
|
Steeel is reeeal, maaan. :chuckle:
I bet the ones that are kept in circulation will by collector's items. Like mis-stamped coins, mis-printed stamps... |
The only pieces as far as I know to come forward with that error are display pieces.
It was either done intentionally to throw off the fakers (unlikely) OR is a hugely embarrassing mistake. The only way to know is to see if any of the watches which have been sold contain the same error. I suspect we will find out soon. If an error.... very dissapointing statement about quality control. Borders on comical. |
I better run home and check my PAM's.

Mass robot-produced assembly line watches these ain't. |
I've seen a "Breitling" that said Made in Switchinternet
|
A post on a German watch forum seems to indicate that it was an actual error and was/is on pieces released to the public.
The question now for those few lucky owners is do you keep it as is or order a new caseback? Is it an annoying mistake or a rare "variant" worth big $$$$ down the road. Hmmmmm. Panerai is going to want those mistake casebacks, back. |
I don't know if it's worth more or not, likely not, but since it's where no one will see it I'd keep it as is.
