Panerai size
I was at my local AD enquiring about a Pam 392 and was told that the 42mm size refers to the size of just the dial and the case is bigger than 42mm. He said the same is for other Pam models, that the stated size (E.G. 44mm 312) refers to just dial and the case is bigger. Is the AD talking BS?? I thought the size referred to the case size??
Um no. Pretty sure the AD is talking BS. The 392 is a 42mm case size (that measurement not including the crown guard).
I thought so but sometimes it's not worth saying anything to the AD. Just checked the Panerai website and it says case size.
Difficult to get good help these days, eh!
Definitely size refers to the case without the crown. |
Yep, as the others have said, the AD was incorrect. The diameter is that of the case, minus the crown guard
Could he have meant the thickness was the same?
