Can I pull this off? (Pam372) - opinions please

Hi all

I visited the panerai ad last weekend to try the 372...I love the look of the watch but of course was concerned about it's size. if the 390 were still available I'd probably go for that, since the 44mm luminor case is a good fit for me... so anyway:

Here are a few pics I snapped off the watch on my wrist. Do you guys think I can pull it off? The lugs I think overhang slightly over the edges of my wrist. I'm 6' tall with thin lanky build...

Thx for your opinions!!

I think the watch over powers your wrist. I would go a little smaller maybe a 44mm. But don't let my opinion sway you from the watch. If you like go for it.

subtona 7 October 2013 06:54 AM

I see a nice Patek on that wrist:)

44mm might work or perhaps if you fitted the 372 a bit more snugly?

Urosfan 7 October 2013 06:55 AM

I have thin wrists too but I think it only matters what your opinion is, I think it looks ok on your wrist

HL65 7 October 2013 07:00 AM

Looks a bit big to me as lugs are hanging over your wrist.

What's your wrist size? I'm a 6.5" and think I'm borderline for 47mm but I love it.

Beautiful!

Great watch and if you're happy, that's fine. For me, it would be too much due to the lugs.

accce 7 October 2013 08:06 AM

Way to big.

Gottahaverolex 7 October 2013 08:26 AM

Too big, you can still find plenty of 390's on here and other sites sales sections.

turboawd 7 October 2013 08:26 AM

Thanks guys.. I think my wrist is around 6.25"... very thin... Yeah it seemed big when I put it on. I am comfortable wearing the 44mm pams as the lugs don't overhang... Bit the 47mm seemed much larger even though it's only 3mm

Tooomey 7 October 2013 09:30 AM

I like the watch but Unless your a Rapper that watch is to big...

advocatia 7 October 2013 09:56 AM

It's a bit big. Honest.

Hairdude1 7 October 2013 10:55 AM

I feel it is a little large for your wrist

porschejeff 7 October 2013 10:57 AM

Agree way to big, but the good thing is Panerai has plenty of other choices that look the same:rofl:

Oliva17 7 October 2013 11:57 AM

To big!

nishant 7 October 2013 12:02 PM

A bit too big IMO.

s14roller 7 October 2013 12:02 PM

Too big...

WyoWatch 8 October 2013 12:46 AM

Do you guys think I can pull it off? -No. I'm sorry but it is just too big.

Yeah I'm in the same boat with wrist size around 6.25 to 6.5" depending on the day so I can't pull off 47mm either.

Joearch 8 October 2013 01:44 AM

honestly it is more how the watch feels

I have a 422 and have way gotten used to the size of the Panerai 47 mm case visually. I wear the 422 in rotation and abosolutely love it. 372 would be the same. I am happy to have a 44mm Lumnor and a Sub C also to switch things up. You mostly have to make sure you are happy with the feel of the watch. I think the 372/422 are two of the most unique out there today for any brand. BTW I had a 390 and honestly not nearly the watch the 372 is for the money. http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/...psf6b49147.jpg Good Luck.

Vincent65 8 October 2013 02:07 AM

not really, to be honest

Nice 422!! That's the other model I had in mind... I actually prefer the sapphire to the plexi for scratch resistance. When I tried the 372 on at the AD the plexi was actually already scratched, right in the middle of the dome! I like the step the 422 comes with better as well. But I do prefer the fact that the 372 is a base.

In what areas do you find the 390 to be coming up short in? I know the movement is not in house and the dial text is just printed... But I do like the tobacco color and the 44mm luminor case..

The 422 is much more versatile. The face on a 390 is chocolate which limited straps for me. The 422 has a "warm" black face that loooks great with any strap. I like black straps with the 422 in addition to the Asso that comes with it. The sandiwich dial is really nice on the 422 compared to the sandwich dial on the 390. I also like the refinement of the 422 case...so well detailed. You can pickup a 422 prewned for a decent price these days also.

wingku 8 October 2013 07:28 AM

Too big!

Great points... what size is your wrist of you don't mind me asking? In your photo the 422 looks great on your wrist...

As I said in the first post it is as much about how you feel with the weight and size. I am great with it as it is not my only nice watch. I am not sure about the plexi and would only do the saphire crystal.http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/...2499DD41E6.jpg

Not sure of your wrist size, but hate to be one of those folks who say too big, but it kind of is. I'd recommend either 44mm, or even better 42mm. I bought a PAM392 and I love it. Here is the pic of the same watch in 44 vs 42.
