SubC stopped/ now running thanks to the forum
My 3 year old subC stopped and would not run despite a full wind. I was preparing to take it in for service when I read of a member with a similar problem that had the dealer solve it by advancing the hour hand by a few hours.
It has not run for a month despite the full wind. So, I tried his yesterday and .....it worked like a charm. Now 12 hours later, running well, and keeping perfect time. Thanks again to the Rolex Forum. |
Good deal. Nice outcome.

Great outcome!
In spite of the occasional snarky remark there's lots to be learned here... |
Somebody needs to explain to me why this works (although I am delighted by the outcome). Something must have been stuck somewhere, but what was it likely to be?

There could have been a speck of dust in the wrong place, or perhaps some lube needed to be redistributed.
It's a mechanical device and sometimes they just need a little nudge to get going... |
