Sub No Date COSC
 

Although I have a SubDate, I do appreciate the elegant appearance of my dateless cousins, especially the "new" M COSC models.

Anyone have any pics to share?

I'm not sure which I prefer, the Nato or the bracelet, it looks equally good on both.

Yummy. If I didn't already have a Sub Date, I would have one of these puppies. I love the COSC version. If it had SEL, I would be all over it.

I just bought one too ...Sub ND COSC .. can you explain the diff between my Z' version and the "new" M version .... I assume these letters are the start of the serial number ??

And also where is a good place to get the Nato , I love that look as well

a z sub like your was made from late 06-07 and the m's are the most current.you z may have the crb(rolex,rolex)around the dial,and the m will have it.

Paul, that watch is the coolest timepiece Rolex ever, ever made. With its James Bond heritage and its perfect symmetry, it's my next watch for sure!:cheers: BTW, great pics!

The "M" has the lug holes, as does the "Z." Correct?

Absolutely fantastic pics as usual Mike, thank you very much indeed! It must take ages to set those up, with the lighting and cleaning. You should submit them to Rolex for use.

Only one thing, I still find it disconcerting to see a watch on the right rist "pointing in" it just doesn't seem right. :thinking:

Some people don't like the crown digging in to their hand. I had that happen on my old Tag but do not with either of the Rolex Watches I own. I think it's an interesting way to wear it. Different strokes . . . . . . . .

I'm new to TRF, so here goes a relatively early little post.

My new Z-series SS Sub No-Date COSC was been on my wrist for less than a week. I love it, of course. But one thing seems strange: The line spacing on "1000 ft = 300 meters" is odd, as it is in the pics posted in this thread. Didn't notice it till I brought it home.

I also own a SS Sub No-date (non-COSC) purchased in 1970.

To my eye it just seems a little strange. I asked my Canon copier sales rep, who wears his Sub ND on his right wrist, about it. He said he's always worn it that way, it just seemed natural. Other acquaintances wear it there because they're lefties.

Looking at Mike's shot though, the watch is set off so elegantly against his dark sleeve, I think I should go out and buy some black jumpers.

Marrk - Hi. Do you mean the "gap" between the two measurements? If so I think it's been placed like that so they align under the word "Submariner." Although I started the thread for the COSC Sub NDs, I'm sure we'd love to see a photo of that old timer from 1970.

I'd love to post pics of my 1970 SS Sub No-date, but I hardly think it is worth it. I had some repairs and refurbishing done on it in 1989 and, without thinking about the value of the original look, I let RSC replace the dial and bezel and bracelet. So, now the watch looks like a current model, only with "660 ft = 200 m."

are all the new sub no date watches are not cosc? I see the date versions are chronometers but not the no-date.

All new Subs ND are now COSC. Unless there is old stock sitting in your local AD.

Just saw a Z-series Sub ND COSC at Rolex Boutique in South Coast Plaza. $5300.00 I think COSC and non-COSC are still available aroind Los Angeles, too.

That ND Sub is such a clean look. Who needs to know what day it is anyway. Only if it is Friday, which we all look forward to, as the weekend and play are arriving :cheers: :thumbsup:.

I love the NATO Strap on the watch. I think it adds the James Bond mystique to it. I picture you guys in black turtlenecks having pajama parties on the bad guys. Those who were in the military will understand a pajama party. Bars of soap in a sock if someone screwed up the group. They never screwed up again.

Or LRRP/Ranger's. I worked with Nam vets for about nine years. Heartbreaking stories, courageous lives.

I say wear those NATO Straps. They look macho as all hell!

I officially now prefer the no date sub compared to the sub date- well for today anyway! Everyones got great pics and i am constantly changing my mind on what to go for next.

Personally I think the cyclops messes with the clean lines of the sub. Who needs to know what the date is when you are diving anyway?
