Would you flip a gold Rolex for a Daytona C?

Hey,

I have a gold Rolex worth 15-16k, The new Daytona C, in Brazil will have about the same price. Would you filp the gold for a SS Daytona?

Thanks for your opinion!

swils8610 10 June 2016 03:41 AM

Nope.

TheRolexKingofLV 10 June 2016 03:43 AM

Personally no. Its your call though....

Etschell 10 June 2016 03:43 AM

i would not. the daytona will drop in price eventually and gold to me > SS. just my 2 cents.

No what the hell for a tarted up 16 year old Daytona with a slither of ceramic and slightly different dials. And anyone paying over retail for a ceramic Daytona must be sixpence short of a shilling.

mjclark32 10 June 2016 03:52 AM

Nope

malnik 10 June 2016 03:54 AM

No way. unless you don't wear your gold rolex anymore.

No sir! I would not recommend that deal.

Sell your gold watch, and hold onto the funds until a Daytona-C comes at MSRP.

If you can get $2-3k out of the deal, I would recommend going for it though!

AK797 10 June 2016 04:22 AM

Good advice from the guys.

tkerrmd 10 June 2016 04:23 AM

I agree with the Doctor. Hold on to your PM piece and pick up the C when possible.

Headshrinker 10 June 2016 05:53 AM

Nope!

watchwatcher 10 June 2016 05:55 AM

No, no, no. Never ever flip gold for steel. Never.

After the steel hype normalizes, you will be a long way from another gold piece. A long way.

Racerdj 10 June 2016 06:16 AM

No not in my lifetime however adding the Daytona is the way to go. Both can function in any collection.

ZeKe 10 June 2016 06:21 AM

If you're not happy with your gold watch then sell it and buy Daytona @MSRP.
Straight up trade/swap NO WAY.

superdog 10 June 2016 06:23 AM

Can you get that much loot for the gold watch?

If so, sell it on your own, get on a list and wait.

If that is not to your liking, then heck yeah. Why not? You only live once.

And you can't take your money with you. Its not like you are taking a loan out to pay for a watch that you cant afford. You are simply swapping something of higher value to get something else first.

Time is worth money. So if you have more time with the DC, that has value.

I say go for it.

WAK4 10 June 2016 06:25 AM

I'd say sell the gold and wait out the Daytona C at list. No way paying a premium, particularly 3-4k.

he can get $15k for that watch in his profile picture plus or minus $500.

I'm not sure you got the point of my post.

I imagine I did not communicate well enough.

But my point was....well, never mind. It's not important.

KBM 10 June 2016 06:28 AM

Guys, just to clarify, the 15-16k usd price mentioned is from the ADs here in Brazil. No premium. Currency fluctuations and higher margins account for the different msrp.

To the OP, if it's a watch you don't wear anymore, why not? If you like the gold piece, heck no. Gold is gold.

Urosfan 10 June 2016 06:29 AM

No

evlkoala 10 June 2016 06:30 AM

No, I wouldn't.

goin camping 10 June 2016 06:46 AM

I would not. But if you don't care for the gold one and prefer the Daytona. Make yourself happy.

SWISSAHOLICS 10 June 2016 06:49 AM

Heck no. The Daytona is not worth any more than the MSRP.

This is the best answer. If you don't wear the PM then sell it and wait out the hype. You can use the extra cash for something else.

why don't you just buy the daytona c at msrp and keep the all gold rolex (especially if its your avatar model)?

what's another $12k if you you already have a $16k model?
