5980/1A white dial

Got a chance to buy a double sealed 5980/1A white dial.

Out of all the 5980/1A, white dial I remember hardly moved when it was still avaible and only on sale for 2 years only? .. I think this model is rarest of the three dial option.

Love to hear your thoughts on this model.

I love Nautilus white dial and often find them more special, go for it.

it's nice but not my favorite dial option, if the price is really god why not, still a great watch whatever the dial

Do you intend to keep it double sealed and wait a decade or more to see if it becomes highly collectible? This is not what this hobby is all about for me, but if it's the case for you, go for it. Otherwise, I would suggest to buy a watch that you love above any other criteria.

I wasn't really a fan when it first came out, but I have grown to like it a lot. I think the 5980 looks best when the sub dial is the same colour as the main dial. Short production run is an added bonus.

Agree with this.

Personally, would find it hard to buy and not where as I think it's a handsome watch :)

Me too! I like the monochrome dial more than the one with the bullseye.. Just a personal thing.. I used to own 5980/1A blue but I sold it after I got the 1R.

I only seen the white dial once in the wild.. Mind you I mix a lot in watch collectors circle.. The white dial is a rare bird for sure. I do not intend to keep it double sealed since this is a sport watch. I just like watches that are uncommon. I am sure I will not lost a lot of money if I ever part with it in the future which is unlikely.

Anyone know when did PP intro the white dial n when did it stop production? Any guesstimate the ratio between the blue:black:white? ... Base on my personal "in-the-wild" guesstimate would be 10:8:1

Thank you everyone for your kind feedbacks! Really appreciate it!

by far the least popular of the three black commanding the greatest premium.

is it uncommon? not compared to say a 5070p but surely not common like a 5711 .......... if you can call any patek common

IMO. I'd stick with the blue dial.

I really like white dial Patek watches. If I had the opportunity, I would buy it. I like different.

I love all the 5980 variations, I'd go for it

I've got the white dial tiffany stamped 5980, i prefer it to the other dials, looks "fresher" and shorter to me but like many have said its seems the least popular and has the lowest numbers so that may appeal to you.

I was offered the same... And passed on it although the white dial is more rare. If the blue is what you fancy, it's worth paying the premium if you can find one IMHO.
