The Portuguese has a long standing history as one of (if not the most) iconic watches in IWC's repertoire. Back in the 1930s, a custom order from two Portuguese businessmen for ultra accurate wristwatches forced IWC to break the art-deco style of the time and fit pocket watch movements into wristwatch cases, instantly creating an avante-garde timepiece ahead of its time.
Fast forward to 1993, when IWC revisited the model and re-launched the Portugieser line, eventually adding a chronograph variant.
The chronograph kept the elegance, simplicity and balance of the original model while adding great little details. The raised numerals and recessed subdials along with the sloped chapter ring provide great depth to the dial. The blued steel "feuille" hands match the iconic applied markers which stand out against the black printed text. A thin bezel helps the watch to wear larger than its 41mm case size appears but the thin 12.3mm height retains the elegance and versatility of the Portuguese chrono.
The watch we are offering here is in excellent overall condition, completely original, and running like a top.

Case: 40.9mm stainless steel case with polished lugs and deep grain brushed sides in excellent condition with only very minor surface scratching as pictured. Flat top polished pushers are also in excellent shape.

Bezel: Polished stainless steel bezel in excellent condition with only minor surface scratching as pictured.

Dial/Hands: Original silver dial with blue markers and blue hands with no flaws.

Caseback: Stainless steel caseback with crisp engravings and clean serial number with minor surface scratching as pictured.

Crystal: Original sapphire crystal in perfect condition with no scratching.

Movement: IWC cal. 75390 automatic chronograph movement in excellent working condition. Watch keeps excellent time and all chronograph functions work as they should.

Bracelet/Strap: OEM original croc leather strap in good condition as pictured with original SS tang buckle.

Accessories: None. Sold as watch only.
