RSC question
Hello everyone! I have a submariner that I purchased a couple years ago and it has accumulated many scratches. I would like to have it fully serviced and polished. I've heard that RSC is the place for that. I'm wondering 1) how much it costs, 2) how long it takes, and 3) will the entire watch be polished (bezel, case (front and back), bracelet, etc.) and will it look like new once done? Any other advice is also welcome. Thank you!

Send it to abc watchwerks in Los Angeles. Their metal work is incredible, faster turn time, and cheaper.

I'm not sure if ABC is the same as LAWW (LA watchworks) but I second them. Amazing work; check their Instagram

Good call, these guys will handle a polish right...assuming you must have one...I wouldn't trust Rsc with polishing..it's a crapshoot with no guarantees.

This is suprising. How come RSC is a crapshoot? You'd think RSC would produce the same result as the Rolex factory.
So which one polishes it to look like new? ABC or LA watchworks? Any other suggestions. I have some scratches on the caseback. Do these guys buff out all scratches? Do they also do a full service and regulation? |
I would send it to RSC. Never had an issue and that is w 6 watches over the past 20 yrs

How much does RSC charge and how long does it take? Anyone?

Dallas RSC serviced and polished my 1986 gold Date. Fantastic job. Cost $880 including new crown (which you may not need $175) and plastic crystal. Figure about $700. They can give a ballpark figure over the phone, and an accurate estimate in about a week if you send it to them. Use usps Registered mail. After I gave ok it took about 5 weeks to get it back.
This watch is now running 3 seconds slow after 5 weeks. Amazing! |
Oh, it might still have some remnant of dents. Scratches, unless deep, will be gone. They did the back and sides shiny and the lug fronts where mine has a brushed finish. The bezel of mine was left alone. It's hard to see scratches on my bezel anyway and any polish there would round out the sharp edges.
The watch looks like new, several dents were almost completely removed. |
