Would you do this trade?
Black Ceramic Daytona and Blue AP 15400 and 1-3k for a 5164a?
Would leave me with the Aquanaut, a Lange 1815 and a 36 mm TT DJ (which I never really wear). Use the DaytonaC as a daily (and I love it) and I use the AP as more of a fun watch, I also love it but don’t wear it as much as my other 2. The 5164 would be used as a daily/fun piece. 7.5 in wrists. |
Financially, sounds like a terrible deal. I think you should be getting cash instead for those two pieces.
But yes I would switch those two for a 5164A. It's the perfect daily wear watch. |
I just got a 5164r and love it.
But I would not do this trade. There is a very good chance you will regret getting rid of the Ceramic Daytona and Blue 15400, which is a great combo. Also 5164 might be a little small for your 7.5 wrist. My wrist is 6.25-6.5 and it fits perfectly. My advice is get rid of the DJ instead of the Ceramic Daytona. |

I think the numbers do not make sense so I’d hold or alter deal. I’d keep Daytona too
|
The 5164 is BNIB. Not sure if we are allowed the discuss prices in absolute terms here or not.
What would you guys think is a fair price for BNIB 5164? |
Fair price for BNIB 5164 should be RRP. It's not as in demand (yet) as the 5167, 5711, and 5712.

Your trading just for the sake of trading.
I would take the 15400 or 116500 over the 5164a, regardless of msrp. Unless it’s a Nautilus with a chrono or at least PM, don’t bother. |

Would you do this trade?
I think I’d pass on that with the money not seeming quite right to me. But I’m not a big Aquanaut fan in general.

You can walk into most Patek AD's and get the 5164 without too much of a wait or fuss (just a few months wait). Try that with the DaytonaC or 15400 blue. You'll be waiting years for the Rolex and maybe a year for the RO. |

More realistic combo for the two is probably right around 5164 MSRP. |

Sounds about right for trade value. Those watches are easy to move. I would entertain listing and selling them yourself unless a few grand is worth it for peace of mind
|
The Daytona C and Blue AP 15400 give you more variety in your collection and are both very special pieces so no I would not do that trade.

I would pass on that deal

No way....:thumbsdow

Thanks everyone for your feedback and advice.
Think I’m gonna wait and go the AD route on this one. Probably time to build a relationship with a Patek AD anyway. Here’s hoping these don’t skyrocket in demand after the price increase. Thanks again everyone. |
I love Patek but no way I would give up those two
|
I think it's a bad deal from a dollar value perspective and also from a watch collection perspective.
The 5164a is a great watch, no doubt, but I think the Daytona C + Blue 15400 is a better pair than that singular Patek. If you were gung-ho on doing it, I would try to sell them independently on here to see if you can generate more than the 30-31k you would be getting from a trade. |
So if I wait till later in the year (assuming no price increase) than I would only need to flip one of them.
So the question becomes, which would you rather? DaytonaC, 5164 and 1815 or 5164, 15400 and 1815 (and get back on the waitlist for a white Daytona) I'm leaning towards the second set, from a balance perspective, but I would definitely miss the Daytona. |
Can you get another Daytona at retail assuming that is what you paid for the current one? if the answer is no then I wouldn't move it. All of the other pieces can be easily had plus Rolex will increase prices soon.

1, nothing to beat on for 2. You need all 4 dude

If it were me it would be the latter. 5164, 15400, and 1815 — no doubt. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I could get another, and I'd put in for one, I'd would just have to wait, which I'm fine with. |
