Panerai Domed Sapphire
I'm thinking more and more to buy my 1st Panerai. I'm spending hours on this forum looking at pictures and pretty much made my mind up that I really love a domed one. I think up to 44mm would be ok but 47mm seems to be to large on my wrist. Is it just me or do most domed Panerais come in 47mm?
I do love the 233 but have seen some very nice other ones which I do not know the model numbers at the moment but they all look like 47's. My dream Pam would be around 44mm with domed sapphire and a brown suede leather strap. Any suggestion from our Panerai experts would be much appreciated. I really want a keeper and that's the main reason for taking my time. Thanks in advance, Frank |
Dont worry about the strap, you can easily find an OEM or other just like you want. You should try the 1312, its a luminor 1950 in 44mm. Great watch if you like the blue second hand and the date window

I wear a 44mm 1312 on my six and a half inch wrist. It just fits...I wish I can go bigger but the lugs would overhang my wrist. Otherwise I would have gone with 372.

Domed Sapphire is an elusive option on the 44mm case size.. You're on the right track looking at the 233. Great all around PAM.

I don't believe these suggestions are domed, except the 233.
My understanding is the 8 days and 10 days 44mm 1950 case sizes have domed sapphires. Like the 311, 317 and 335 But not all. The 533 does not looked domed. It may be a cost reduced 270, as thw domes are seen to be expensive and I expect more difficult to make. |
The Bettarini Luminors have a slightly convex chrystal, but not a dome like the 233.

Dome is dome.
