Do All Rolex Models (Sub ND) Have the Laser-Etched Coronet?

I'm looking at a Submariner, No Date, still in plastic and everything, but I don't see the coronet at 6 o'clock. Should it be there?

Yes, it can be hard to see sometimes.

out of curiosity, when did they start putting it on?

I thought (and have no source to back this up) that they were going to be on all Rolex models as of 2004 or so.

You're right. I've read that it was hard to see, but I thought my eyes were pretty good. I managed to just catch it by using one of those really bright LED flashlights.

i find it works best under florescent light, and you need to hold it at a certain angle, mostly to get the line of sight on the coronet over the black, and not the hash marks, and you might be able to see it just before it disapears into the glare, right on the border of the refelction. It is incredibly hard to see for something that is as large as it it (hey, where have I heard that before....?)

Best to get a loupe or magnifying glass and look for it under bright light from a side angle.

I could not see mine until I got my loupe out.

With no-date models, the LEC may not be found at 6 (no cyclops to position the crystal).

I can usually see the LEC with the naked eye if I angle the watch just so under a bright light source. The crystal has to be clean though... :thumbsup:

I Used a really strong LED torch and a magnifying glass off a compass to find the one on my old ND at first i didn't think it had one?,my new sub dates one was much easier to find!

The LEC was fully integrated into the line by 2003, many models received it earlier so there is no exact time line
