Bezel Protector
 

Do all Luminor's come with a bezel protector? My new 111 doesn't have one and not sure if it should or shouldn't :thinking:

I bought it brand new from an AD.

Mine did. All the Pams I've looked at at my ADs had them as part of the package.

They should come with them, but I know some ADs are pretty shady, and will only give you one at purchase time when you request it. Other wise, they will probably charge you $50 for one. :thumbsdow Go back into the ADs and ask for one bring your watch receipt.

Magnet, I had to check your location. I thought only we Americans were hung up on all the bits and bobs:chuckle:. When I got my first PAM from the EU I was upset I didn't get the tan outer cardboard box. I thought I had been ripped off. In reality, most non US dealers discard the tan cardboard for what it is; a shipping container not an integral part of the set.

I agree with the others though and the bezel protector should have been included. Having said that, mine all sit in the box and even if one was missing it's readily picked up if needed and has a minor if any impact on a sale.

Still it's nice to have the "Whole Megillah" as they say. I'd follow with your AD and have them provide one.

Why EU dealers discard the tan box? Only reason I can think of is their storage area is constrained? The tan box has important information on it, the sticker that lists model, ref, serial etc.

If it came without the pear wood box, then it's whole different story!

My understanding is the tan box is shipped as just the outer shipping box. The movement stickers are in the Libretto along with the warranty card and the COSC (depending on the model) when they arrive at the Boutique or an AD.

The dealer places one of the stickers on either the tan box (US) or the blue box (EU).

Ah that explains, I once saw a picture of boxes, which that 2nd blue box had that sticker on it instead on tan box. I assumed that it was done at OP not at AD. Fortunately my AD supplies the same way as US, triple boxes. Like you I keep everything as well.

BTW, what's "Libretto" ?

Panerai ships two booklets with each watch. The older versions of these booklets were the the Storici and the Libretto di Garanzia.

The Storici is the instruction manual and features a picture of the watch on the cover and is blue. The Libretto di Garanzia or Libretto contains the warranty card, movement sticker and COSC if applicable to that specific model. It's blue gray in color.

Newer models are shipped with two grey booklets. One is the instruction manual showing the series at the top and specific model at the bottom. The second booklet is gray and is the Guarantee Booklet.

Old schoolers refer to them as the Storici and Libretto even though that is no longer the case:thumbsup:
