Going crazy...I miss wearing my Panerai
This watch passion is driving me a bit nuts. I yearned and sought after the SD43 and have it and love it. But now I miss the Panerai. Something about the simplicity and ease of reading the time on my Pam 005. Also the comfort of the RubberB is really great. I refuse to put a RubberB on the SD43...just doesn't look right to me. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...047b8b41c6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d2c6e95652.jpg

Panerais are a love/ hate relationship. I love the manual wind PAMs and hate the autos because the cases were too thick. The 005 is a great piece. I’m considering picking a a 562.

I’m a big fan of both brands and both watches!

Buy another PAM then. They're as cheap as chips.

I love Panerai as well. I miss my Panerai watches. :(

I agree with you Marc, it's easy to love both [emoji106]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e2f23d5eeb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8c623109ab.jpg

[QUOTE=marc2828;8998751 Was just looking at Ceramic and Carbontech models[/QUOTE]
I like all of those models too. If I could steal one (as in, get a SCREAMING DEAL) on one, I might pull the trigger. Generally, I’m more practical than that though. |
Carbotech is a nice for sure. I looked at one a few months back. Wife liked it as well, but alas would take away from Rolex funds. I may eventually get one.

I've had several Panerai watches over the years. Cool watches with neat character. Another nice thing about them is you can buy them pre-owned and save a bundle. If you really miss it, look out for a used watch for a steal to satisfy your itch.

Do the lugs overhang or is it just the pic? It’s a beautiful case design. |

I'm pretty obsessed with Panerai of late. If I can ever decide which one to get it will make a nice addition to my collection. I'm leaning towards a Radiomir....I think.

Some of the earlier model PAMs just didn't have the quality guts for a fine timepiece, but some cool history. The new in-house stuff is a little more interesting, but for me they just don't quite hit the mark.
I've owned the Submersible, the 188GMT, and the base in titanium hoping it wouldn't feel so bulky. None of them stuck, but the 188 did get me a lot of compliments. I think PAM is an excellent entry level watch for the young up and comers. It's unique, flashy, big, and there are numerous models. More of a fun varietal piece for the mature crowd IMHO. |
The fiver was my very first expensive watch. Great watch, still miss it. Someday I'll pick up another Pam, maybe 233 or 190.

There is something so unique about Panerai. To think that a watch looks almost the same as it originally did around 70 years ago, and very much in fashion, I think is awesome. I think it's a good thing to sometimes miss what is not on your wrist. Time for a change. Then you can go back again. The SD43 is an amazing watch, and amazing piece of engineering. I have a passion for both Panerai and Rolex. I just got an Explorer 1 yesterday, and love it. But I expect after a few days, I will be ready to put on a Panerai again.

The 5 is an absolute classic. I have its slightly simpler brother, the 111 [emoji41]
I keep on going back and forth with letting go of this piece as I find Rolex gets more wrist time, but can’t seem to part with it. Here it is today after a strap change. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0cb7c32f7e.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
