PAM Subs...

What do you guys think? Who has them? What is the "icon" Pam Sub - 24?

Just curious - post some pics if you have them.

Thanks,

I would say 243 is more of an icon than 24.

Got the 024 - love it, it's awsome. The 243 is the more expensive, deeper-rated version (1000M) and is a big chunk of metal. I think with the historic case, the 243 is the one that some want.

I have heard from several people that have owned them that they sit very high and is a little less versatile than the 024.

Can't go wrong with either probably but I only have experience with the 024, pictured below:

The 24 looks pretty sweet! Thanks for sharing the pics!

I like the 24, seems plenty high enough for me. But then, I usually stay at negative depths when I "dive"

The 24 is a beautiful watch, love it!! but if not mistaken the most iconic of the Submersibles is the one call "La Bomba" can't find the ref number but here is an old pic that I got from the internet.

Hmmm, we need:

Something that Pam does best..............Rose Gold.

Something simple that is nor cluttered with functions............. Base Model.

Yet has the inherent features.................Sandwich Dial/Onion Crown/Clear Caseback.

And must be able to stand alone without the aid of 10000 aftermarket straps.

And must look like a Panerai at first glance.

:chuckle::chuckle:

I agree 24 wears much easier but to me the 243 is more iconic. I wear them both very little but still like them.

I like 24, but I think yes 243 is The KILLER!!!

Initially I wasn't interested much in the Pam Sub. Don't know exactly why just didn't give them much thought. Having said that I've lately taken a second look and have come to the educated and scientific conclusion THEY ARE AWESOME!!! :dude: Ideally I need to try one on though because I've never seen one in person.

i have the 24. love it but have to agree that the 243 is more iconic.

Similar to the La Bomba, I'd say I'd love own the Pam 87. Blue dial 243 basically with straight line markers, not circles.

Not my pic....

I have a 25...I like the titanium and the hobnail dial. Very sharp combo.

I have to agree. The PAM 64, La Bomba, came out in the C series as a Special Edition. Considered by many to be the quintessential Panerai iconic sub, many of it's devotees were upset when the 87 made it's appearance as a regular production watch starting in the D series.

Hugely popular in it's own right, the 87 was a 64 with a blue face.
