Harrods Blackbay

Got the email to collect my Tudor Harrods Blackbay. The thing is I’m not sure I want it. You guys think it’s still worth buying to even stick in the safe?

kieselguhr 9 November 2019 02:43 AM

To wear, yes. To put in a safe, nope.

Acidstain 9 November 2019 03:26 AM

You could either 1. Buy and flip or 2. Pass on it and let someone who’d truly enjoy the watch (hopefully) buy it

Do you think the watch will appreciate over time as much as putting the same amount into something like gold?

Wear it.
Enjoy

I have a BBb and was never crazy about that one. Dont buy it unless you love and wear it. Not sure about the prices but I think there's enough followers where if you try it and dont like it you can sell it. You might make out on it but thats a hassle to me. Doesn't sound like a safe queen investment.

Harrods Blackbays are beautiful, I'd say go try it on and make your decision then.

Harrods are going to pull the plug on these soon with no more orders being taken

They will not lose any money once that happens

Completely agree, they are lovely, and meant to be worn not stuck in a safe:cheers:

Don't buy it if you don't want it. But I think it's a great piece. Definitely the BB to have IMO.

When did you put your name down on the list? Just trying to gauge how long you had to wait.

I just put mine down today and was quoted 6-8 months. They mentioned it had to be picked up in store either by me or someone on my behalf.

I personally only buy watches to wear. If I don't wear it - I sell it. If you don't like it then pass on it and let another collector enjoy or if you are so inclined buy and flip it.

The Harrods Black Bay is a nice watch but is meant to be worn in my opinion.
