2 Rolexes for a Patek 5711a or 5711r?
My lineup:
Rolex DayDate 228348RBR Black Baguette Diamond Dial and Bezel Rolex Daytona 116500LN White Dial (bought at retail) Rolex Sub Gold 116618LB Bought all new. Thinking about trading my sub and/or sub and Daytona for a 5711a blue face or 5711r. Thoughts? Hit me with it! |
Easy trade for me. Especially at MSRP. At $50k plus have to stop and think but still probably do it.
|
Gold sub, white daytona, and 5711 is a killer trio.
|
sell the daytona during high price. upgrade to higher class watch
|
I’d make the trade... but I’m a snob
|
I have both a 116618LB and a blue 5711.
I´d never give away my LB in order to get the 5711, rather sell the Daytona. |
I wouldn’t trade my Nautilus for those 2 Rolex. Nobody would.
Therefor, if you can find someone to make that deal you have to take it. |
I’d make the trade for sure - but just the Sub. Keep the Daytona. [emoji1303]

I would get rid of the DD and keep daytona and Sub , just add cash in the trade and you got yourself a SS one "5711" a Gold choice "your Sub" and keep Daytona white until you get bored and feel like you want to update and when that moment happens I would update the whitona for a ROO with ceramic bezel.
This 3 would be my final goal PP (5711/1a) AP (ROO CE bezel) Rolex (Sub gold) just some ideas for you to play in your head good luck |
DD and Sub. Do it!
|
Gold Sub ,SS Nautilus and you don t need that other two
|
I'd just keep the Daytona and trade the other two for a 5711/1A plus cash or a /1R.
|
The 1R is a piece you must have. Ask Ninja.
|
I'd trade the first two for a 11R, if possible keep the Daytona.
|
I think you have a fine collection. If you do part with one I would say the YG Sub but then you need a SS steel sub (an iconic piece).
If it was me, I would pony down the dough for a 5711a and increase the collection to 4. I wouldn't trade any of the references. Day-date, Daytona, and Sub are all essentials for me. |
Patek have to produce more Nautilus 5711-5712. Even if they stop for a while, they will have to come up with a new ideas for this watch in the matter of size, dial, maybe. Suspension of a 5712 is like killing only cow.
|
5711 is the grail of steel sports watches.
But not if your afraid to wear it because of scratches. |

Experience as many brands that take your interest as you can. I would make the trade to move into a Patek.

Personal preference of course, though my head is wired to A for sport and R/G/J/P for dress.
|
I would keep the Daytona.
