Do you gift your SA?

Well since it’s coming up to Christmas I thought a lot of you would maybe gift your AD/SA

I’m in the UK is that common here or are they not allowed to accept anything?

Henrimontgomery 10 December 2021 01:06 AM

I gift them with the gracious uptick in their sales numbers, bringing them closer to reach their yearly targets.

SaintMickey 10 December 2021 01:07 AM

Give a GIFT to someone trying to SELL me something? NO.:dummy:

teager 10 December 2021 01:09 AM

padi56 10 December 2021 01:15 AM

No

Surely it depends on your relationship? I will prob drop something small into my AD because he has turned into a bit of a WhatsApp/text “mate” swapping car pics, watch pics and fragrance tips (and offers)

We get on, and share hobbies. It’s just a “Thank you” for his help.

I also tip in restaurants too, if I’ve had good service and got on well with the Paterson looking after me.

I sell Mercedes-Benz for a living and get a handful of gifts from my regular clients at Xmas, they also have my mobile number. They don’t wait on hold for service dept, they send me a text and I get someone to email or call them. I think the small gifts are a “thank you” for my efforts……

brandrea 10 December 2021 01:18 AM

I bring coffee or sweet treats when I visit any old time, so I guess I do:cheers:

Alo(ha)waii 10 December 2021 01:18 AM

I do.

Take care of them & they’ll take care of you.

-dustin 10 December 2021 01:19 AM

Do you have a friendly relationship with him/ her, beyond simply chatting up to get something?

I've been gifted items by customers/ clients in a previous life...but I consider them to be friends (as in, they're no longer buying stuff from me, but we still chat and send pictures of our cats and stuff).

beshannon 10 December 2021 01:20 AM

No

I suspect AD’s are not supposed to accept “gifts” from customers as this might constitute some form of bribery as defined from the mothership (but this is my opinion). My AD went so far to tell me if I gave them anything I would be placed on the do not call list.

April26 10 December 2021 01:39 AM

Ok maybe just a Christmas card then.....

ninjin 10 December 2021 01:42 AM

If I am in the AD's area at Xmas I will always pop in with something. Nothing expensive, just a bottle of bubbly or the like for the staff to enjoy after hours. At the end of the day over the year, they have given me good service and supplied many watches that others can only dream of buying at list price. I am grateful for this.

RolexADreal 10 December 2021 01:50 AM

many ADs sales people are not allowed to receive ANY gift... so make sure you don't embarass them

kieselguhr 10 December 2021 01:52 AM

I bring them portraits of myself every time I visit. That way it’s burned into memory who they’re going to call next.

zengineer 10 December 2021 01:54 AM

They have stuff that everyone wants and don't gave enough for everyone.

They've identified who gets some and who doesn't.

Up to you if you want to be stubborn about it and not do something small to give you an edge.

No I wont gift them at Christmas but I will do the obvious send a text. Last pick which was my grail I did send some nice chocolates to her after my purchase.

JayHantz 10 December 2021 02:05 AM

I personally do. I have had a great relationship with them over the years and have bought not only my watches but jewelry. It is nothing expensive, a bottle of something nice or a gift certificate to a local restaurant. YMMV but I think it helps the relationship.

teager 10 December 2021 02:06 AM

Although i'd gift him handsomely if he could get me a pepsi GMT in 2022

This ^ and a heart-felt "thanks".

skipstar 10 December 2021 02:15 AM

I definitely do!

Tools 10 December 2021 02:16 AM

My AD sends invitations and Christmas cards to me.

That's the way I'll keep it. :hat:

Why?

Do you give gifts to every salesperson you deal with?

joejet 10 December 2021 03:00 AM

Yes, and I and son have also received gifts from them (not Rolex related) I have built up a friendship and not to get watches. The people ideal with are lovely and they talk watches and let my sick son try anything on. The most expensive watch he has tried on so far was a $384,000.00 watch, crazy but he loves it. We pop in every 2-4 weeks, to see what they have.

Treat people as you want to be treated.

That's because ADs are just a retail store that sells watches, just treat them with respect like you would treat anyone in any retail store.

johnwigan 10 December 2021 03:04 AM

No, I bloody don't. They should be giving us gifts, for our business, not the other way around.

sechsgang 10 December 2021 03:04 AM

Yep, a gift cert to a local restaurant or a bottle of booze, because its nice and it makes zero difference when I get things or not.

franktehtank 10 December 2021 03:10 AM

Ah yes, Continuously Repeated Thread #7! How I enjoy this one!

In all seriousness, no.
