Weight difference between two ss Luminors.
 

Was going through my desk drawers this afternoon.(Unbelievable what gets its way into those drawers,after some time !!! >> :chuckle::chuckle:)

Found my dig scale which I used for clutch weight weighing and tuning ,a whille ago.

Decided to put it to some practical use .... :thumbsup:

I always felt the 104,compared to the 111,felt "more subtantial" on the wrist,"wears heavier".Just felt that tad more of an extension of one's ..... OK,let leave that one there !! :chuckle:
So,it felt heavier.Imagination ???:thinking:

Tested today ...... The 104 weighs 15.6% more than the 111

I would like to see the difference between the 112 and the 176. I would also like to see the difference between the 111 and the 177. You don't happen to have those models sitting in your drawer do you. :chuckle: :thinking:

There were a lot of "interesting thingies" to be found ....old used cheque books,little pieces of paper ,old batteries etc.etc How do these things accumulate like this ??? :chuckle::thinking:

Anyone concerned about a ss PAMs weight should go for the manual wound Historicals.I love the weighty feel of the 104 and the "alive whobble" from the auto movement.:thumbsup:

its all that heavy paint on yer 104 LOL... i do love the auto movements i have to say.. no matter if they are more heavy.

the most classy Oscillating weight IMHO on the Pam 141 in gold, but as for pure Calibre the GP of the 98 just looks stunning to me....

111 feels pretty heavy to me.... Wow 104 is even heavier....

1) Automatic "whobbler weight"
2) Steel caseback

The likes of the 262 and new 319 must be "substantial on the wrist" !! :thumbsup:

I had the PAM 104 and upgraded it to the PAM 140 which is basically the same watch but solid gold(I think when the other posters here say PAM 141 they actually mean PAM 140).
The PAM 140 feels heavier again.I should locate some scales and post a picture to compare.

I had a 140, to be honest i couldn't stand it as the rotor wobble was noticeable, it weighed a ton and it was a scratch magnet :thumbsdow

I must admit there is some rotor wobble,it does weigh a ton,and everytime I wear it I catch it on something because its so big.

Its still one of my all time favorite watches though,and certainly the one out of my present watches which is noticed and commented on more than the others.

Yeah, it's definitely noticeable, there is no hiding a huge lump of gold on the wrist :rofl:

Even with the wobble and weight i'd have loved to have kept it as a special occasions watch, the one you wear once a month or so, but it's just too much money to be sat around a watchbox 98% of the time, if i win the lottery i'd get another gold panerai as they are beautiful to look at :thumbsup:

Have to admit, i now wonder how much the 140 actually weighed, all i know is that it was heavy, but a real work of art to look at :thumbsup:

I only wear mine once in a while.If I had to wear it everyday and it was my only watch then I would probably get fed up with it.

C'mon Ryan,you bought the 140 because it was priced extremely low.You didnt even have it long enough to put a scratch on it !! :rofl::rofl::rofl:
