Your thoughts on this Tudor jumbo 90814
Dial not in the best condition, has been polished but it doesn’t bother me, markers seems fine and the lugs confirm the 90814 reference and the year approx 1978
Reasonable price? Oh bracelet is aftermarket https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3a0fd0b7b8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...06d79069b5.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...079dd5e52a.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Yes it's ok, the crude ( look like refinish ) painted second markers and - swiss - is weirdly correct ! Nice big 37mm piece - they go for about a bag of sand (£1000), or so, in the UK.

Is the lume painted black or is that "patina"?

Thanks for this. Pulled the trigger. Wasn’t a bag of sand, a bit more but I really do like them for what they are. I suspect some sort of exposure happened that made the lume go black maybe. Now the search begins for a 94613 lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Very welcome and congrats I like them as they are quirky and a good size and way underpriced at moment.
Other 37mm that are undervalued 'sleepers' I also like, are these four from 70s - quarter of the price of 9411/7016 etc. 9111/0 (Ranger 2 with orange second hand esp interesting) 9101/0, (Burgundy and Greeny Blue dial esp nice) 9121/0 (bullseye blue,/grey esp interesting) 9140/0 (Quartz version of above and a 10th price Equiv Rolex) |

Really liking these too… interestingly the RSC doesn’t accept the 70s Tudors anymore for a lack of parts, well that’s what they told me directly, which made me hesitant at first. But my local watchmaker doesn’t have an issue in servicing. Would you consider a 9411/0 that has had a movement replacement? The markings on the movement give it away as it was swopped out at some point. One of my biggest regrets was selling a 79260 that I had a full set, I lust after these vintage tudors to this day. Sorry to go on, but do you think that the tarnish on this gold bezel is fine for being over 30 years old? The crown looks aftermarket to me.

Watchmakers fine with old Tudors they are just workhorse ETA mvts.
If 9411 was v.cheap and rest of watch ok perhaps - most I've seen with wrong mvt are not right elsewhere though. Ps Correct ETA would be about £750 as you can buy cheaper piece and swap out. Yes the 79260/70/80 were £1500 tops in 2016, when I bought a few... now £4-5k. Think they've peaked for a bit though now, as too close to values of more sought after earlier Big Block 79160/70/80 now. |

Thanks, the 9411 has an asking price of about £7500 which I feel is a bit high. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thanks. Last question I promise, instead I could get an excellent full set 79090, nearly NOS and still waterproof for £6100. Would you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Aaargg I got the photos, no bracelet and I see the dial is as you say it shouldn’t. Is it a service replacement? Case looks mint to me. I remember I could have got one a decade ago for £1000! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b2e4d10736.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4b1b6c4b97.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...40b20b4144.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Yes that is 1991 from Geneve dealer I think I saw on C24 and they say 'all original'- There are strangely a lot on C24 with this late 79190 styleT SWISS MADE T over the 6 triangle , which I think is service... but perhaps someone else could confirm or not. Either way the 9315 is worth a b.o.s./ £1000 so it would be £5k max - also can't see if punched or not but looks handwritten (Bucheror one of only a few companies who often didn't use punch papers btw), most feel punched better than hand written of course.
They were a £1000 in UK about 2007 (15 yrs ago), by 2012 £2k and by 2017 they were £3k and then a big jump in 2019 to £5k. |

Thanks, I did a search now and saw it there too. I do like it very much, the plexi does finish it off well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These are undervalued watches, considering they’re essentially a mix of the 1019 Milgauss (same case) and a DateJust, albeit with an ETA movement, and the 37.5mm bezel diameter is a little “modern.” The 9080/0 is probably my favorite Rolex/Tudor that I’ve owned. |
Oof ... confusing thread.

One of the greatest bags of sand I've ever owned and proud to have it next to any Rolex in my collection.

Lovely - the 0.2 second hashes (applied) painting on dial is quite a feat of jumbo craftsmenship !
