Am I actually getting a Sub 14060M?!

The short answer is "yes". But let me explain myself. I'm looking to buy a 14060M (not a 14060) two-liner because I like the style, size, and most importantly the 3130 movement. I see a lot of 14060 and 14060Ms for sale (with and without box and papers), and I'm thinking in some cases a seller is listing their watch as a 14060M when it's actually a 14060, especially when there are no original papers to reference.

Is there any way to distinguish between these two references by sight, without having to open the watch up and look at the movement? Maybe an engraving or a stamp somewhere? I just want the piece of mind that what I'm actually going to buy is the 14060M variant, without having to just take the seller's word for it. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes. The model number is engraved between the lugs. Either 14060 or 14060M

I read about that, but one of the sellers I am talking with said that engraving does not exist.

Do you have a photo example of that?

Such are all over the web, just do a search. Or see attachment:

Wouldn't advise you to buy such a "recent" watch without papers, go for a full set.

Warranty paper would have the usual model sticker to confirm it's an "M".

Go for it, if it's a 2 liner, you'll get the most balanced dial and the best tool watch one can ever buy.

I did a search on the web and I guess I wasn't using the right keywords because I could not find an image like that. Thanks for attaching that image. That is helpful. This seller literally told me that engraving didn't exist.

See what David( DavidSW) can do for you. Other than AD’s I have dealt with him. There isn’t a better Non AD to deal with impo. Good luck.

I have also bought from him with good results. I don't think he deals with watches this old but I can check. Thanks.

I honestly don’t think so either but it wouldn’t hurt to give him a ring.

A major retailer? Wonder why he’ll try deceiving you on this.
Please, ex him from your options.

Good luck on your purchase and hoping to see pictures when you do.

I'm still looking for a good example from a seller I can trust. I'll let you know if I find one soon.

There's nothing unbalanced about the 14060M dial.

There are only preferences.

They're both excellent watches.

Buy from a trusted seller. That term is probably overused, but by that I mean someone you absolutely know you can trust and who will stand behind the product if there is anything wrong with it and will provide a warranty. A local guy is best.

Don't put too much stock in box and papers. Follow the aforementioned advice and they will be of very little value to you and will be just something else to keep up with.

Good luck.
