Rip to your SA

JRell 7 March 2023 03:30 AM

You feel lost, imagine how their family feels? RIP to the SA, feel fortunate you have your health.

Undefeatable 7 March 2023 03:31 AM

Not even sure what is satire in this forum anymore...

No kidding.

Wcdhtwn 7 March 2023 03:35 AM

I hope you showed more remorse to the AD than you've expressed here. Someone dies and your concern is not getting a watch as soon as you hoped? Maybe some priorities need to be rethought...

Someone passing away is what matters. People have lives and impact far greater than silly watches. Your thread intentional or not is intensive.

This.

omar-rye 7 March 2023 03:40 AM

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. It might be helpful to reach out to their trustee and pursue any available assets from their estate

swexlin 7 March 2023 03:40 AM

Damn, that's hard core.

SA died, who's gonna get me my watch now? Good God, is there no compassion anymore?

Give the guy a break, he was asking for help. He never said he didn't feel bad.

This happened to me as well. Unfortunately, if you are like me, you'll have to start building a new relationship. Talk to the mgr to see if they can find an associate that is knowledgeable in the items you have been buying in the past as well as what you plan on buying in the future.

I'm sorry but maybe you didn't realize we're talking about a Rolex here.

It's ok. You're forgiven.

RIP

We do tend to become overly focused on watches. 'My' SA no longer works at the local AD. Did she pass away? Fired? Unemployed? No idea.

We're going through a Tulip craze

tough crowd here, i don't think the op created this thread to get condolences for someone none of us know, and he never said he doesn't feel bad. probably opened it to see if anyone has gone through a similar situation

unfortunately the world keeps spinning

No kidding… geez. To even think what do I do next about my next purchase is…ridiculous.

msu_1972 7 March 2023 04:04 AM

RIP to your SA.

I had the same thing happen to my SA over this past Christmas holiday. My heart just felt so sad for his family since he was such a good man. For not buying a watch from that AD for over 20 yrs, he help me get the BLNR and Panda Daytona within a short time period. He was always friendly and pleasant to talk to whenever I visited the store so it was such a big lost to hear he have passed away.

I usually visited my AD often so during that time I have got to know other SA as well. So, hopefully you have done the same so that other SA already know who you are that they can just pick you up as a new client of theirs. Good luck to you.

ikincooper 7 March 2023 04:07 AM

Please keep your watch hobby in check and perspective here OP.

In the time I’ve known my SA (maybe 6 years) I’ve made calls intended to be a watch “check in” but where more important things have come up first. Things like mental/physical health.

On such occasions, I’ve openly said, stuff watch talk, what are you doing to help with your issues and then spent time being a human (listening).

Life is about human relationships not material things.

bp1000 7 March 2023 04:07 AM

wow, someone lost their life and you lost a few months on a watch.

Come on, I cant believe this is a genuine post, even if its not, its a v.bad joke.

Agreed.

To all those passing judgement: how long is the official mourning period?

We need to know the duration of wearing sackcloth and ashes, and foregoing watch purchases, before we can ask what to do in this situation.

brandrea 7 March 2023 04:15 AM

I’m confused, who took your info/interest? Someone in sales?

RIP to your previous sales person.

OP walks into the AD...

"Hi...one of your employees just died...but nevermind that, can I be put higher up on a new SA's list because I'm a repeat customer?"

That's how this post is coming across OP.

cdmorenot 7 March 2023 05:00 AM

I'm sorry about the passing of your SA...

Hopefully our AD kept good records.

HERITAGE82 7 March 2023 05:03 AM

I agrees its a tough crowd... OP i think some of us understand where your coming from regarding starting over in building the relationship. People are being a bit in their feelings about it so they seem to forget that these waitlist are years long at times and the relationships built keep your name in the game to get what you want.

So sure may they family of the person NONE OF US KNOW be at peace, but back to what we are here for which is watches.

fareplay 7 March 2023 05:20 AM

Not sure why people are upset. this was not something I found out yesterday. It just hit me as I found out I want to get an update on the status that the guy I’ve been texting has now passed away. I wasn’t able to think properly because I was in shock when I heard the news and forgot to ask for any updates.

Sorry to hear that your SA has passed away, that's awful!

I can actually say that I have never experienced this, but I have had 5 locally lose their Rolex account when Rolex decided that they no longer fit their profile. Not quite the same thing, but definitely implies starting over with someone else.

Runfar 7 March 2023 05:34 AM

disappointing comment - no followup really just stop here
