BLNR Price Crash
Dear All,
I have been tracking the 116710BLNR and recently saw the prices dipping by quite a bit. Also most shop are not paying much to buy this reference number to the tune of less than 9k USD. Thats insanity. Surprisingly 126710BLNR still holding fine eventhough they are quite the same watch. What do you guys think? |
I think that offering sellers less than $9K for the 11 series BLNR sounds more like sanity than insanity. I hope the trend catches on.
|
Better is the enemy of good... That's literally what happened to these references.
Not sure what you want the opinion on though, the 11 series is trending down (not precipitously) and dealers need to make a spread. So if the potential sale price for a 11 series is about 13-15k and you want to make at least 20% gross, you're not going to offer much more than 11k at this point to buy it. The fact that a secondary watch sale price is still close to Msrp is historically almost an abnormality, not some shocking blip |
less than 9k is them being greedy, tell us which shops so can avoid them and call them out for their exploitation. Better off selling yourself or holding.
|
126710 BLNR is still selling 20 to 25k range everywhere.
With that price you can get a 126713 GRNR. Not saying GRNR is nicer than BLNR but it’s more expensive in MSRP |
What a grey offers you has nothing to do with a 'crash' OP. This model is still rather steady although there is a very slight downward trend over 6 months (like $200)

The 126710BLNR is available brand new for $17-18K all day and that's on a chrono24 which has the inflated prices of at least 10% .. |
This is me hoping they drop further.

I have noticed a dip, but not to that extent. The BLNR holding near parity with the BLRO has been a big surprise to me. There's obviously quite a lot more BLNRs out there based on production years, and I wouldn't be surprised if Rolex produces more of them in a given year due to the easier to manufacture bezel.

Low ball offers to sellers just indicates the greys are struggling to shift stock

They've been offered on Moda for ~$13k watch only.
Dealers are EXTREMELY greedy. The low margin they look to make is between 20-40%. They can throw lowball buy offers at you all day, as at ~20-40% margin, they don't need to sell thousands of watches to make a comfortable living... |
People are now getting 12 series more easily from ADs. The Pepsis too.
So prices go lower for all of them. All great watches, but nothing “special”. Regardless, enjoy them. |
I know dealers who do offer extreme low ball, but many others are fair in my opinion.
I work part time in a watch shop that deals in luxury watches and we always offer fair prices. Bought a 116710BLNR this past week and paid a lot more than 9K, and it was a good deal. Had just unboxed it and a watch flipper we know walked into the shop and offered me $1500 more than I paid for it. Since I bought it for myself, told him give me a few weeks and if I decide to sell it he’ll be the first I call. I can assure you that the market has slowed some and gotten slightly softer, but the sought after pieces are still an easy sell. |

I don’t know, seems the popular models are moving to me. I think it has more to do with them preferring to sell by consignment these days. Low ball the “buy” offer so the consignment offer looks more appealing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The 11 series BLNRs are now all but out of warranty, so the spread vs the 12 series will likely widen.
That being said, the 11s have the more reliable 31xx movement (vs the 32xx) and may be still be attractive... I am getting tired of waiting for a BLNR at MSRP...trying to decide on an 11 at a lower price or a 12 at a higher price with some warranty left... |
Anything over MSRP is too much for either BLNR model

Just buy one grey now. I bought one grey ages ago and the MSRP through price hikes eventually got to the same price i paid grey. Eventuality the price hikes and inflation will bring the msrp price to the grey price you bought it for over the time you mess about waiting for an AD to contact you for one
