Diver Ideas

Looking for the following, would love ideas!
  • Under ~$12k USD used.
  • Not a Rolex/Omega/Hublot. It can not be a super recognizable brand because I intend on wearing it in Mexico and a few other less than safe countries. :-)
  • Waterproof - I can at least swim in it. I don't want to have to leave the watch in my hotel room when I go to the pool or w/e and am travelling.
  • Bracelet or rubber is fine. Have a preference for a bracelet b/c they are nice for hot weather.
  • Looks good with a bit of wear. IMO some watches do not!
  • Ideally ~40mm. But not bigger than 41mm.
  • Not too thick either. The thinner the better
  • Screw down would be nice!

Main contender right now is a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

Glashutte Original SeaQ

Grand Seiko, or a higher end Seiko diver.

Le Coultre, IWC, Cartier and Ulysse Nardin make some nice diving watches as well.

I am a big fan of a the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, but which one are you looking at that is <41mm, the Bathyscaphe in 38mm?

As someone else suggested, I would also strongly consider a Glasshuette Original SeaQ. I would also consider a JLC Polaris, something from Tudor, or a Longines. I might lean more towards Tudor or Longines if theft is a concern, based purley on price.

SeaQ. For 4k more you could get the 39mm rose gold on rubber.

I dont mind under 41mm! I mean just not bigger than 41mm :)

Good call on the Polaris. Not big on Tudor either or Longines.

A ‘diver’ has many requirements in its ISO specification.

Do you want an ISO diver or would an acceptable depth rating be ok?
