My recently serviced AP Royal Oak 15450 running fast

I received my 15450 back from AP after a complete maintenance service a few months ago. It was running very slow, up to 4 minutes behind per day after a compete wind. The service description says the cannon pinion was adjusted and “in order to assure the integrity and accuracy of the timepiece the movement was serviced.”

Now I’m noticing the watch is running fast, 2 minutes fast per week. I’ve been resetting the time once a week. This is about 17 seconds fast per day. Is this within normal limits and tolerance?

Yes, it's under normal tolerance.

It is not, 17 seconds is outside of tolerance. I have never seen AP provide official tolerance numbers but when pressed, I was told -2/+8. This is my main gripe with supposedly high horology brand.

I just received my watch back from service and it is slow by 3 seconds which is acceptable to me.

Doesn’t seem normal to me, that’s outside tolerance from what I understand. Give it a couple of days and see if it improves, otherwise contact the service center and I’m sure they’ll be willing to help.

mine runs about 3-5 seconds slow per day according to a post i had here a year ago (set sunday night or monday morning and it's 10 seconds behind by weds morning)

17 seconds is quite a lot

I thought they would be at least COSC certified, guess I am wrong. In any case -4 +6 seconds a day is the least I would accept from any high horology brand.

AP mechanisms have never been known for their accuracy, unlike Rolex, but even so 17 seconds a day is too much.

might be magnetized? all my APs run about 3-4 mins fast per month, which is 6-8 seconds per day.

can't wait to see the AP hate posts that will surely come on this thread!

I've had a few friends who's ROOs are running fast by 5 mins in 2 to 3 weeks, which is approx 15s/day. And service centre says it's within tolerance.

Nothing but good things to say about my 3120, running maybe 2 seconds fast per day

That’s too much. Contact them back.

Thank you all for the feedback. Just dropped my watch off at the boutique for servicing. Will update this thread again when I get my watch back.

From my experience, get used to it. Great watch but they don’t boast about their timekeeping specs for a reason.
