C1 Bel Canto Act II

This is the version 2 of the same popular watch by Christopher Ward. Very interested to purchase one. I know chiming looks like a gimmick but it's also very dressy and formal watch. Price just under $5K USD. Let me know what everyone think about this watch?

The Roman hours and the guilloche they did on the platine is very nice IMHO. I would probably get the silver or blue if I didn't already have a version 1. Although I rarely wear it on the bracelet, I'd still get the bracelet version.

I don't see the chiming as a gimmick though. It literally is a reminder to me of the passing of time (LOL quite literally the sonnerie au passage) because often I get lost in work (borderline OCD) while at my desk. It sort of snaps me out of my trance. :chuckle:

Just received mine this morning. At this price point I am super impressed. Thais watch has a lot going on. The guilloche dial, the open gears, the "floating" hours, of course the chime mechanism. I have appreciated the Bel Canto from release, but could see and as confirmed by other members, there is an obvious legibility issue in the original. This particular iteration solves that straight away. I had my order in for this one within single digit minutes of first seeing it.

I ordered on bracelet and added a brown strap, with folding clasp. Ultimately, I think this will end of living on the strap, but the bracelet works too, Going to wear it on bracelet for a few days before any movement in that regard. The bracelet has different sized links and an internal micro adjust in the clasp. getting a perfect fit is a snap.

The size (41MM) and shape of the case fit my just under 7.5" wrist perfectly. Very pleased with this purchase.

I believe the CW Bel Canto hit a home run.

Unbelievable value for a Sonnerie au Passage( chiming watch). The finish and Grade 5 titanium, with parts being supplied from Armin Strom and others who furnished the likes of MB&F can not be beat. If the Bel Canto was made by a Armin Strom or MB&F it would be at $100,000+.

The closes high end similar chiming watch is the Chopard LUC strike one watch which is $68,700.00.

The Bel Canto is a better looking watch than the Chopard IMHO.

When the Bel canto first came out in 2022, the problem I had was the legibility of the hour hands.

When the limited edition(200 units) Bel Canto X Watch came out in 2023, it hit all the right buttons for me. I put it on a blue gator strap with gold stitching from Arron Bespoke to match the watch.

One day when I was walking in my Rolex AD wearing the watch, one of the SA thought it was a Breguet.

When CW came out with the Act 2, I thought they hit a home run again and I am considering to purchase a Bel Canto Act 2.

These are super enticing - only watch I can think of with a sub $5k MSRP that has a chime. I'd seriously consider getting one.

Also love the name as a classical music lover. Lol
