Triplock
Just picked up a new Submariner #124060 today and went to set the time. Should I be able to see a spring when my trip lock crown is pulled out to position two? Does anyone have a picture with their crown extended? Please advise.

There isn't any "spring" in the triplock mechanism. You have a visible o-ring on the outside of the crown tube that is pushed up against the case, the threaded tube itself, and the base of the crown (which the stem fits into and is secured with glue). That is all you should be seeing.
A picture would be helpful. |
Thank you.

Of course there's a spring but you'll never see it unless your crown come completely loose from the stem.
Eddie's cutaway image above shows it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
there is a spring down the stem going in the watch..........it is there to give some give to the crown when winding or setting the time

I hope you can't see it. Congrats on the Sub!

So, I am embarrassed to say that what my eyes saw as a spring, is only the gasket as noted above. Rookie question I guess. Thanks to all who replied.
