Future [emoji2394]1[emoji239[emoji239[emoji2393]]][emoji2394] Range

Love the new 6196P. The size at 38mm is just right. The movement hacks, fills the case, and looks great. The salmon dial is also stunning.

What do we think the dials will look like for future variants in yellow/rose/white gold? Similar to the 5196 variants perhaps? Will the breguet numerals return at some point?

Sorry, mods, I butchered the title here. It should read “Future 6196 Range”

This is my favorite release of the year

I so wish Patek just went the extra mile and included one internal angle. VC traditionnelle offers much more in terms of movement, case complexity.

Agree.

Not a fan of Patek's "new" manual movement. Those two large and wavy shaped bridges that open up for a tiny balance wheel don't look great at all in my eyes. The 215 was too small for their current oversized watches but I prefer its more traditional design.

Good to see PP finally coming out with a nice updated Calatrava. Quite pricey but it is a platinum PP so there you go.

I like it.

Re: OP’s question, I have been wondering this myself. I would have expected them to release this new reference with white, yellow, and rose gold options right now, with the white gold option having a black dial; then, after a year, they would unroll a platinum version with Breguet numerals. Seems like they are starting from the end and working back. The dial without the breguets underwhelms for a platinum version, IMHO, so while I am pleased to see the new reference, I am disappointed in this model as a platinum flagbearer.

Also agree that the finishing on this movement underwhelms at this price point (lack of internal angle). Lack of breguet numerals and the lack of higher end movement finishing makes me pass on this release, though its a move in the right direction. Really wish Patek still had the Geneva Seal qualification, b/c I would value a third party set of eyes on their finishing, particularly on models in the under ~50K USD range. The PP seal is an absurd bit of theater - why stamp at all if the stamp is only your own approval.

Would love to see a RG version with white enamel dial and YG version with black lacquered dial

I agree the potential with this range is limitless. I also agree dials is a great starting point. Enamel/Email would look fantastic.
