Watch/Jewellery Tray for Safe
Me and her collectively have 10 watches in a small safe. Leaving these guys in their green boxes is a pain.
The interior of the safe isn't lined and could scratch unboxed watches. I thought these would be more accessible left on a soft jewellery tray, a bit like the ones AD's use to show watches, anyone got any recommendations that won't break the bank? |

If placing items in a safe just be mindful of a) humidity and b) safes are not all truly “safes”…if the “small safe” isn’t 500+ pounds and at least TL15+… honestly, I think it offers more risks than benefits overall.
For the humidity consider an active (powered) or passive (absorptive) means of keeping humidity <40%. More ideal is nearer 30-35%. As for the trays… I second the other poster. I would do boxed. |

The safe I have is about 130kg and bolted to the floor and those bolts are only accessible when its opened. It meets a specified standard to keep my insurance company happy. Its in a heated/carpeted bedroom and the watches get rotated regularly. House also alarmed. in essence its not really about me wanting to keep them "safe" and more about my insurance policy working if some scrote burgles me. I wanted something quick and easy where I can select and run. |
The best way I found is individual watch cases for each piece. That way they can be stacked or prevent scratches from touching other metal objects. You can also grab all of them quickly out of the safe in a emergency.

Look at Bosphorus Leather. They should have what you need.

I would put the watches in individual zip cases instead of on a tray. You can label or color coordinate so you will know what the case and watch are from site. I just think that a tray will result in a drop/trip or other incident and the watches go tumbling.

How many watches are you dealing with OP?

Is humidity naturally more of an issue with storing inside safes as compared to immediately outside it?

If you keep the door open and only close it when out, limited risk. Same with regular opening and closing (with ample time “open” and limited stretches of closed). Also, of course, depends on the safe’s construction and other factors. Just be mindful of it. |
I would buy an inexpensive watch box like this one
