New Superocean Heritage Releases
Looks like Breitling redesigned the SOH line, offering new dial colors, smaller case sizes, and integrated end links on the mesh bracelets. All improvements IMHO, however, it’s a bummer that they incorporated butterfly clasps on the bracelets, hence 0 adjustability.

Nice watches. I look forward to seeing them in person.

Wow.
|
Thanks for the heads up:thumbsup:

I absolutely love them. The 40 is a nice add
|
I looked at the 40 and 42 on bracelet today. I'm thinking about getting the 40 in black. Wow. Great watch. I liked everything about it.

I have a 44mm in blue on blue. Looks like they discontinued that size/color
I like the look of the new models. |

Nice! I’ve been waiting for the slimmer case and curved end links on the mesh bracelet. The green dial has been on my mind. They really made some huge improvements. My only hang up is the damn butterfly clasp. I’m always between sizes on them and my wrist swells/contracts so I need more adjustability than a butterfly provides. Why they did everything so right and then completely dropped the ball on the clasp (a diver’s clasp albeit!) is beyond me. I’ve read about success swapping the previous generation clasp with the micro-adjustment clasp used for the rubber. Just need a closer look at the new bracelet; not enough pics circulating yet. I'm lucky in that I can set my bracelet and I'm good all day. But fine tuning this mesh bracelet isn't going to happen. If I do pick one up I'll go with a little looser than too tight. I'm spoiled with my Tudor T-fit on my Monochrome. This Breitling is noticeably smaller the the Monochrome... and much slimmer. Love the clasp on the recent Top Time 38mm release! |

Thus would be the one I’d get. Overall great improvements

I just tried on the same watch as well as the green in 42mm, the black in 40mm.
The blue is eye popping, a deeper richer blue than the previous model. the green very nice, the black nice. The thickness is dramatically different than the previous model, feels great on the wrist! |

Is the green in the dial different than the previous generation? I really liked the tone of that green but never got around to buying one.

Not the same. New one has more olive tones, old one more emeraldy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
My Sub is back from service and have to run into the city to get it, may try on the SOH 40 in black. Excited to see how it feels/looks.

It's not that easy to implement such systems on these kind of mesh bracelets. |
I saw the new watches at my AD's. Nice, but not for me right out of the gate.

I tried on the black 40mm 3 hander and the blue 42mm chrono the other day, and the chrono is absolutely stunning in person. The black dial on the 40mm was a huge disappointment as the sunburst made it look very washed out - it'd be so much better if they went with a rich, deep, enamel black instead IMO.
But the blue on the chrono looked superb, and much nicer than the older model which could also look washed out in harsh lighting. But as others have said above, the use of a butterfly clasp on the mesh just beggars belief. Absolute garbage as there is zero fine adjustment capability. It amazes me that while most brands (even including Chinese AliExpress micros) are almost all looking at on-the-fly micro-adjustable clasps, Breitling have decided to go backwards by about 20 years. I can just about understand butterfly clasps on sleek dress watches, but on a sports watch it makes zero sense. |

The pathetic butterfly clasp is all that's stopping me from picking up the new SOHC. |

Here’s an example of the adjustable clasp on the older style mesh…. https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/b...-done.5252952/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah, I’m in the same boat. It may or may not work on the new one. I think the primary concern is if you could fit a spring bar in the end of the bracelet. Such a shame they put a butterfly on a diver. Complete fail imho. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had an older model Omega SMP and one of the first gen Omega PO's (both with clasps with no fine adjustment) and while I was lucky with the SMP that I could get a good fit, the PO never fit me properly: always too loose or too tight. I kept it about 3 months. Same with the current Breitling Chronomat - I bought one on the new rouleaux bracelet, but again the abysmal butterfly clasp meant I could never get a good fit. Lasted a couple months in my collection. Stupid design decisions can completely ruin the wearing experience. |

Butterfly clasps are a bit more elegant than big buckles with a micro adjustment system (or diver extension), that’s why it’s used on the Chronomat and SOH. But the downside is indeed the complexity to add a micro adjustment system on these butterfly clasps. But be patient, it may happen soon ;) |
My AD is having a Breitling Event next weekend and all the new releases will be available as well as some more unique pieces, according to them. Should be fun.
