Lange September new launches

Hello,
A bit frustrated (even though less than me) that the HQ wouldn’t let him sell me the 2 models I was interested in (SS Odysseus and 1815 Rattrapante) because I didn’t meet the minimum spend requirements having only bought the 1815 Chrono from the boutique, my contact told me there will be some new models launch in September this year.
Any leak/idea of what it could be? And if it will be available without having bought many watches directly for them (since then I did bought a brand new 1815 Rattrapante and he knows it but from the grey market)?
Thanks!

Usually they launch late October to coincide with the relaunch of the brand in 1994 although in recent years September has seen some releases.

That's just silly, as I'm sure ALS is feeling the heat in this market...

What does it matter what the new releases are as they will not sell to anyone without significant purchase history. I have always though how are people suppose to get that history if they don't sell to them? I would believe they would want to load you up with watches that you do not want or you would already have them.

IMHO, it’s time for a different watch brand (it’s not like they’ll sell you the new ones). :2:

FromDRCtoPP 6 July 2025 10:46 PM

I heard all of you and it’s indeed very frustrating (if not silly). Does it mean that unless you’re an historic Lange customer or buy 5 « entry level » Lange 1 or Saxonia they don’t want you and you can’t buy anything serious and/or rare?

I would definitely switch brand but the problem is I love their watches…

metallic 6 July 2025 11:08 PM

This watch hobby is crazy as it is but I think the buying process from an AD is the craziest part. So I need to buy a bunch of your poorly designed or undesirable watches at tens of thousands of dollars in order to be eligible to buy the watch I really want. Sheer insanity. I will either buy grey or not participate in that brand. I think Rolex is more unique in that way being more of a supply/demand issue.

mongrelnomoad 6 July 2025 11:32 PM

I love Lange’s watches but won’t buy another because of how I was treated by the brand at the launch of the Odysseus. There may not be enough watches to go around, but don’t alienate and insult your customers in the process of disappointing them.

I was hinted it will be along the lines of black dial, probably 1815 or Saxonia and under 75k. If it is limited, probably it will be open to anyone like the 30th anniversary Lange 1.

Again this is what was hinted to me [emoji28]

London boutique?

Here’s my 2 cents for models that may be upcoming:
1) ZW Date Lumen -or- ZW Date in different metals
2) 1815 U/D update w new movement, maybe blue dial
3) Odysseus Lumen next few years but not this year since Ody HG just came out
4) 34mm chronograph maybe next year

As incredible as Lange watches are, they lose a lot of value as a used watch on the secondary market. I would seek to collect them via the secondary market and not be concerned about how the boutiques work.

Spot on, the brand has suffered from there behavior. I tried on an 1815 Boutique Exclusive Chrono last week at the NYC boutique, retail is $78k + tax. You can purchase one easily for mid $50's.

Paris boutique

But funny on the London boutique (which is in fact an AD not a corporate owned one contrary to Paris) I have a friend who is a serious collector but has zero new or vintage ALS. After I purchased my 1815 Rattrapàte he went to the London boutique to see if he could try it, they had one and were ready to sell it to him with zero purchase history)!

milgaussSD43 7 July 2025 10:20 PM

Sounds about right. Paris isn’t a “flagship” boutique so maybe less stock. In the last year I’ve seen Datos (pink gold not platinum), ZW Date, L1 Time Zone, and even a L1 perpetual calendar all available for immediate purchase. These were at a North American flagship boutique, Las Vegas, and an Asian flagship boutique.

Same here.

I was told by the now closed Chicago boutique I would be allocated one as I bought a Zeitwerk before the hype.

Then they changed their mind :dummy:

Personally, I have no interest in Lange now. Like others pointed out, independent is the way to go!

London is corporate, Wempe ran the Old Bond Steet store but that closed last year.

kastor77 8 July 2025 01:59 AM

Are these a matter of “arrogance” or a sign of decline start?

Spoke with a rep at the Aspen store a couple of weeks ago. The WG Odysseus is still allocated and in the upper $50K range. The salesperson sounded rather disappointed that the were readily available in like new shape on the secondary market for $42K.
I took from his tone that new sales weren't great...

What did they say about SS Odysseus? Still being allocated w a qualifying purchase (~$45k+ perhaps?)?

I heard there was a window last year when this was the case but wonder if still so.

Yep - and Lange website says new boutique opening October 2025. Plus they have that “Salon” thing in London.

I didn't ask about the SS

golfer_john 8 July 2025 09:39 AM

I work with the NYC boutique and I don’t think one entry level purchase will get you on the SS Odysseus list. If you do make it, the wait last time I asked was 3+ years. Could have changed in the last 6 months but I wouldn’t think significantly.

and you think this phenomenon is somehow unique to lange? seems the rule rather than the exception.

The manager of the Paris boutique told me the 3 current stores in London are not corporate (the new one will be)?

Ah ok. Guess I was misinformed about that [emoji2373]

The Paris boutique manger is out of date, Harrods and Dunhill (Bourdon House) stores are now both corporate Lange stores (the Dunhill store took over from the Wempe salon which wasn't corporate and Harrods is also now corporate). The Dunhill store will I understand be replaced by the new store in Old Bond Street (previously the Rolex store) as sharing is not ideal and I can't see them needing 3 outlets in London.

Bmats 8 July 2025 11:46 PM

I had thought the 1815 chrono (non-boutique edition) got you on the list for the SS Odysseus, but with the several year wait. Regardless, I felt my best approach was to get both secondary—pay below retail on one and above on the other, but get when I wanted them. Since I’m not beholden to one brand and probably have too many pieces anyway, that seemed more logical for my needs than chasing stuff at Lange.

The boutique and the staff there are quite nice, of course. Don’t blame them…

Actually neither Aspen or Vegas are corporate owned.

Just got invited to the ALS boutique for a launch event on July 30 where novelties will be revealed. Will report back.

Yes, told the same 3+ years wait list, but in order to get on a wait list first that you'd need to buy a timezone to be even considered. meaning if you buy a Lange 1 then you won't be qualified for Odysseus's wait list. ha
