Actually when making watch made up of platinum it needs more platinum to make a platinum watch compare to gold.
25% is loss when you melt a platinum to make a watch hence thats why platinum watch are more expensive than gold watches. Thats why ven gold is more expensive per oz, but you lose a lot in the process when platinum is used.
