Great factory service history. The watch has never been polished. Comes with original Rolex strap & white gold deployment buckle plus a black alligator pattern
“Rubber B” strap and a high quality blue alligator strap. 3 straps total and all were expensive. Original brown strap is in excellent condition.
What makes this one special?
During the 90’s the hottest ticket around was the Rolex Daytona. Walking in to any AD you would be promptly greeted with the sales associate shaking his head no and pulling out his waiting list. The Zenith Movement has horological historic significance and the fact Rolex used it for a short period of time at all “although highly modified and upgraded to fit Rolex standards” speaks to the industry’s respect for this powerhouse movement.
The prices on the stainless steel versions have skyrocketed in the last decade although they are much more abundant. The WG models are far more scarce.
Rolex specially engineered and trademarked their own 18Kt white gold so that it would remain white and not yellow over time. This is a huge plus as it eliminates the need to rhodium plate the case and buckle. The result is that people purchased the cheaper stainless steel model because they figured people would not be able to tell the difference anyway. That’s what I love about this watch. I don’t necessarily want people to know I’m wearing a white gold
Zenith Daytona. The people who know, know. One big give away is that the Arabic numerals only came in the white gold models.
