Start by saying I’m just a watch lover, not a long term experienced Rolex watch wearer/owner. I owned a 1993 16610 with its’ jingly bracelet, cheap feeling clasp, and tritium lume completely extinguished…and I regret selling it. It was actually an awesome proportion watch. Hands, markers, lugs, etc. I handled and briefly wore 2 of my friends 114060 and it felt half as good to me as the 16610 did from a purely aesthetic standpoint. When I saw the 124060 online I figured I’d try once more to handle the watch and see it in person before writing it off too and going back to a 90’s T-25 Submariner, but when I handled and felt the latest model, I was glad to look down and see more resemblance (in my experience and eyes, which is what matters most) to the older form of that 16610 I loved and regret selling. The difference is I get a brand new watch and to add my scratches (memories) to it, because I wear it with everything I do. Oh, and the jingly bracelet and cheap aluminium stamped clasp of my 16610 although charming and light weight, doesn’t even hold a candle to the new one.

Great points, it will be fun to add memories and your own aesthetic to your new 124060, dont let go of this one, its just to perfect!
