I have tried many wines, I don't know why, but I cant drink red without having a massive headache that would kill a civvy (I was in the army for a long time and still use that phrase). I started off with Gewurtztraminer and Riesling, which, in the scheme of things are fairly sweet. I have since moved on to Chardonnay. Although French is easier for me to source, I just seem to enjoy Californian Chardonnay better.
I am a novice at this, but enjoy trying out different bottles of wine, what does anyone recommend?
Remember, Red gives me a massive headache so that is out. A caveat to that is that after spending so long in the Sgt's mess, I do forgive the massive headache I endure after drinking Port. I remember waking up one morning after a good mess function, on the floor, unable to move anything but my eyelids thinking, I'm dead. When I was able to move and think, I realised that it was the Port that I had drunk the previous evening. I couldn't find my red mess jacket for 6 weeks, I must have thrown it out of the window from my room and it found itself hung from the fire escape.
I'm the one on the right, the red mess jacket, came up great after going into the dry cleaners.
