A few people have said the same. I have the store manager following this up with VC direct. The customer service presented to me has been excellent, but I'm not sure what to believe and fortunate to have in writing what my wishes were from the beginning (circled the light grey in the photo).

Agree, there is certainly some sort of flash envolved. Even so, the light grey strap pictured is different enough than my current black to satisfy my wishes.
At this stage it looks like i'll be left with a store credit.
