Detroit-style pizza is a thick, square-cut pizza with a crunchy fried bottom and edges, cooked in a steel pan, always made with Wisconsin brick cheese. Pepperoni is placed under the cheese. The crust itself is not a raw dough, heavy consistency, but rather a lighter texture. Others have made it, but Buddy's is head and shoulders above them all, with the light and crunchy crust, they are the original.
