We do spend in there but we don't spend big. My wife picked up some nice jewellery today when I was chatting with the watch people, all of it at half price. We do visit but we don't visit often. I think it's important to stay in touch, get to know people and onto first name terms, and make a point of buying something as opposed to going in just to remind them that you want something. And be patient. It won't happen overnight.
I think the demand is falling also. My AD could still sell way more Rolex watches in a week than they could get in a year, but the insanity seems to be draining a bit and like other ADs I have heard about second hand, they are managing lists more proactively.
Another anecdote from my AD today. They recently sold a boxed, stickered 16610LV with papers, that they originally sold. Back in the early 2000s they didn't routinely remove stickers. They do now. The SA really wanted to buy it for himself as a fan of the Kermit (BTW he called it a Kermit but I didn't pull him up on that - I'm not the nickname police). They thought the optics wouldn't be good so it was sold to a customer who they knew was looking for one.
