A long time business associate of my husband offered him a job on Friday. He'll be doing the same general sort of work (estimating) but for a completely different type of company, helping them implement software and expand the company. It's a smaller local company that does work all over the country. He did have to take a small cut in salary, but there are so many perks that make it worth it. He gets a company car (yay!) so hubby can sell his truck. The hours and pace of the job will be MUCH more family friendly, and the environment will be less stressfull - I'm so happy about that part. So now, he can do things like coach Max's baseball team. Plus, his position here is infinitely more secure, with room for growth.
As much as my husband loved his last position (and had no intention of leaving voluntarily), he admits that this new job may even be a better choice for him. He actually had a couple of other prospects that were almost identical to his previous job, but he's telling them "no thanks".
Thank you for all the positive thoughts and prayers. I'm kind of proud of myself too - as I didn't have a meltdown, and was able to be a postive support for him when he needed it.  |

Hey, sweet Caroline......congrats to Chris. I'm so happy for the both of you as well as your kids. In the end, it's all worked out so well!!
Talk about a blessing in disguise......maybe that's exactly what it was when Chris was made redundant from his previous job. He now has a more challenging job with better hours so he can spend more time with his beautiful family!!
