Robbery Robbed of Rolex Day Date 40 228206 in Southern California

Im so sorry to hear of another member’s plight at the hands of this Jackwagon.

But I would say anywhere public would not be a safe place for face to face high value small form factor transactions (like watches, jewels, and precious objects).

It doesn’t matter which State, Country, City you pick - artful dodgers are around. This particular thief will perhaps avoid capture for a while longer by changing the place he strikes next. Please don’t be next.

After all the warnings and Public Service Announcements by Law Enforcement. After the media informs their viewers/readers about such snatch, grab, flee scams. After police stations have opened safe spaces for such transactions.

We still have ripoffs…

I am very sorry for the OP, the second victim, and the next one too.

Please for readers here, learn what to do to be safe for your own sake.

I did a F2F for a $100+k watch last year. Why did I know it was safe? Because it was with my friends who own their own jewelry store and have always treated me fairly.

Did I leave some $$$ on the table?
Sure - but it was small % compared to what I could have lost if a snatch & flee occurred with a stranger.

I have also sold and traded with trusted sellers here - both F2F and via shipping. They are trusted for a reason.

OK - getting off my soapbox - but please heed the risks out there…
