I followed the crowd, sold my DJ36 of 20 years and bought a 5 digit Sub Date.
As you say, everyone and his dog has one, plus it was a dull monochrome blob. Same as all the other divers watches out there at a glance. Traded it after a short while for a DJ41.
Don't be a sheep, go for something different as you seem to be saying anyhow.
