This is, or was, a show grade car that at it's peak broke 1Mil. My friend/BP shrugged it off and said point blank "I have probably knocked 2 or 3 Hundred off the value by driving it around." Anyway he throws me the keys and offers to let me take it for a spin. I take a fairly straight forward loop out and back to the office. Driving a car as such was a touch unnerving. 1. I knew the value, 2. Its old and quirky. Manually activated fuel pump that filled the cabin with gas fumes at red lights - not a compatible feature set if you are into Marlboros (I'm not). The seats are half backs with no seat belts, the steering wheel is pencil thin, and the spoke rims are a unique feel.
Anyway, as we approach the office in return this guy is telling me how there is only one known mechanic in the US that can work on the transmission. As we are about to park it he tells me to stop, then tells me to stomp it. I don't really stomp, just a quick burst. He then tells me to stop being such a pu$$y and nail it. I oblige, the tracks are the result, he squealed a little as we approached the other side of the parking lot. Of course I had to ask him who was the pu$$y now?
About a month after this I run into him again and he tells me the that the transmission is having issues at the car has been sent in for work. That was a bout two years ago and I think the car is still in a almost fixed state. True story.

You got bigger cajones than I. I’d have said I’m good and called it a day.
