The overall question of having a larger collection vs. fewer higher "quality" (whatever that means to a person) is something collectors deal with. For me, there's a sanity that comes from consolidation which wears off and is replaced with the idea of having a more robust collection in terms of numbers. Depends on the day of the week which one I prefer.

I'd say my life cycle for this watch was 1 - it's unique and the absurd weight is awesome 2 - it's still cool but it's something I have to feel like wearing so some demerits there and now 3 - I dig it for its strengths and flaws.

I have no idea what I would replace this with anyway. A couple of steel references? Nah. A rose gold AP? Maybe but they're more common, are priced at a premium and yg/rg become one of those I have to feel like wearing situations. A higher priced AP like a skeleton RG etc. Nothing particularly captivates me enough to make the move. 2-3 Rolex PM models? More watches is not something that equates to better at the moment.

Hope this helps. The only other thing I noted is that the price for the blue online seems inflated to me. I can't imagine you couldn't find one for 100-120k.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts; they are very helpful. Your perspective is insightful and adds significant value to my decision.
