He even offered me an off catalogue rainbow Yacht Master but I said no. I’m probably the only idiot that would turn down an OC Rolex but bedazzled watches are not my thing so I was never going to wear it. This is all to say that we have an amazing friendship based in trust and the watches are just one part of it. I’m quite respectful of all that so I don’t ask for everything, but the things I do ask for he will put me first or second in line for. He has done so for every other watch I’ve asked so there’s no reason he wouldn’t have given me a Pepsi if he had gotten one. It’s just a relatively small store. For example they have only gotten one yellow gold, green dial day date 40 since it was released, and he gave it to me, and they still haven’t see one of the new Platonas which I’m dying for. I guess one never knows for sure but I’m pretty confident he’s being very honest with me, especially cause he knows that it’s not that I will take it badly if he got one in and gave it to someone that’s been waiting longer than me. I may be spoiled, but I’m not entitled. :)
Somewhat similar with my AD (minus the true friendship part, we’re more like like-minded watch enthusiasts and have a business relationship built on mutual trust and respect) and I have no reason to believe they’re lying to me. According to them, they see way more steel Daytonas than Pepsis. They think there is definitely a production issue with the bezel (specifically the red ceramic).

I know this is not any groundbreaking news but rather another data point supporting the scarcity argument.
