Lange is really shooting itself in the foot with the obnoxious price increases. They overestimated demand and haven’t read the room yet in the post covid era.
Prices in the secondary market are in the decline. If they continue to raise prices, the gap between msrp and secondary prices will widen and worsen the value proposition of the brand.
Obviously you shouldn’t buy watches for investment value, and 10 years ago almost every watch lost value immediately, but we live in a different world now.
While watches are not investments, collectors do want to avoid crazy devaluation so they can move in and out of pieces periodically. While I do want to get a Lange at some point, it makes absolutely no sense to do so at the boutique anymore
