I had on an IWC when a hike turned into a climb in Norway. I slipped and the watch scratched along a rock face which resulted in me getting a new case. I am still wearing that watch when I go hiking in my neck of the woods but I would not wear anything nicer unless you don't mind the watch getting banged up in a big way.
