I went on a rant about this on the Omega sub forum.
I think this a cancer in the industry and it will drive the recent "post covid" era watch aficionados straight out of the hobby.
That's what I tell people first thing who ask me about getting a luxury watch.
Prepare yourself for for when they break out of warranty or when they need a service. This isn't a battery change in the mall kiosk...It's $$$$ and time, which often a poor execution.
Why are we collecting watches again???
