That's what I tell people first thing who ask me about getting a luxury watch.
Prepare yourself for for when they break out of warranty or when they need a service. This isn't a battery change in the mall kiosk...It's $$$$ and time, which often a poor execution.
Why are we collecting watches again???

Very good point. I know a dentist with a very large practice (wears an all gold Patek) that gives his staff (roughly 15 women ) a TT DJ after 5 years service. After 10 years he will pay to add a diamond dial. I noticed after years go by and the watch starts telling poor time or stops all together that the watch gets put away and not repaired. Once they know it’s $1000 to repair the watch becomes a paper weight.
