After a year and a half wait. It all started when I was sitting in the Charlotte terminal, crowded AF, and something caught my eye. Middle aged man, with a cane, well to do with a VC Overseas Dual Time on his wrist. It was like the watch entered the room rather than a man. I couldn't take my eyes off it and I don't know why, I just couldn't. I wasn't even familiar with the brand at the time so sitting there waiting I googled "watch with maltese bezel" and it popped right up. Called the boutique the next day.

Over time I started pestering the VC boutique in Chicago, "Burdeens". I was about to throw in the towel and buy on the secondary market but I sent them an email first, "have any idea how much longer I'm waiting, I'm about to retire and would like to mark the occasion with Vacheron". I was really surprised but Zachary replied that they were going to hook me up in a couple of months at the latest, that the supply had been really trickling over the last year. And yesterday it finally happened.

For those considering this based on the pictures, you may want to find one to look at in real life. When I opened the box I thought they sent me the black by mistake. It takes just the right angle of light to make the blue pop out. It reminds me of the BMW Carbon Black color.
