Everything I've learned so far says that replacing the mainspring at a service is an inexpensive way to guard against poor performance.
When I had my 1675 serviced recently (Bob Ridley) he replaced not only the mainspring but the entire barrel as well (wear on the floor & walls).

Short answer- It's perfectly normal to replace the mainspring.
